Pantoum for a country
By Ejiro Elizabeth Edward
There are no guns in this poem,
there are no black bodies on the floor
with hands hallelujah-in the sky, exhaling death
only black skins singing in complementary keys
There are no black bodies on the floor
With bodies filled with holes of a bullet
only black skins singing in complementary keys
descendants of Monalisa’s & Mozart's
With bodies filled with holes of a bullet
with hands hallelujah-in the sky, exhaling death
descendants of Monalisa’s & Mozart's
There are no guns in this poem.
With hands hallelujah-in the sky, exhaling death
& the perfect choir crumbling
there are no guns in this poem
black bodies ruin to pieces by plutonic triggers
& the perfect choir crumbling
