I love you.
By Sheila Gbollie
Sometimes words like "I love you" that surface in people's mouths, are words from their hearts.
But do you know why they changed direction, forgetting the letter I left only to love you?
It's because their heart is heavy and they might be afraid to make another mistake by loving you.
But you see,
From the genesis of time to the revelation of your existence, for you my heart still grieve.
It may seem like I've walked away, but the sound of your name unfolds every portion of my mind to you, like a soulmate.
What if I say I lose taste in your absence, like those lovers from Disneyland,
What if I say I still envision us dancing through the spotlight that lightens up our path with a naked smile.
Will you continue to hold me tight and ought to never say goodbye?
I know it seems like I walked away.
I know it feels like I took away the I and left you with just love.
But I hope I could be brave enough to confess to you that my heart still beats for you.
I still imagine your hands in mine, holding the world and bringing the love we have for each other at our feet.
Translating those imperfections that meet up to the perfect ones by our epitome connecting souls.
Just for a moment,
Just for a moment,
Until I do realize how this love of ours gives birth to two bodies in one.
To this day, I'm still afraid to reveal those words—I love you
because I'm still afraid to lose you like the rest.
But no matter what, I'll continue to unveil my heart for your happiness,
till the day you accept those three words that I've always said with passion:
"I love you".
You ever wonder why people say
'Love Is Blind'.
Well, it's because
Love is powerful enough to blind your sight.
You see that they're lying and still believe every word they say.
But if those I love you, you keep saying, are authentic,
Then I have no choice but to return the same gesture.
